About

Mark has been involved in Atlanta theater since 1991.  He has been seen all over town at places like Theatre in the Square, the Fox, the Alliance, Theatrical Outfit, Actor's Express, Onstage Atlanta, Theatre Decatur, Stage Door Players, Georgia Ensemble, and The New American Shakespeare Tavern.  Some of his favorite roles have been Seymour in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (twice), Jesus in GODSPELL, Frankie in FOREVER PLAID, Woof in HAIR, Nicely-Nicely in GUYS AND DOLLS, Buddy in THE DIVINERS, Frank in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, Barnaby in HELLO, DOLLY, Ellard in THE FOREIGNER (twice), Wally in THE 1940'S RADIO HOUR (twice), and Jack in INTO THE WOODS (twice).

 

In 1993, Creative Loafing named him one of Atlanta's Ten Best Actors.

 

An accomplished musician, Mark writes music, plays 10 instruments (guitar, piano, harmonica, banjo, ukulele, upright bass, accordion, autoharp, mandolin, violin), and has his own YouTube site (www.youtube.com/mws51581) which he devotes to posting videos of himself playing songs.

 

He recently music-directed ONCE UPON A MATTRESS at Roswell's Rosewater Theatre, and is music-directing PARADE at the Blackwell Playhouse, which runs for 3 weeks in January 2010.  Performing projects on the horizon for 2010 include playing Danny in BABY at Centerstage North, followed by Eugene in GREASE at Georgia Ensemble, and then he will be reprising his role of Joe Mauldin, the bass-playing Cricket in BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY with Georgia Ensemble, to be performed at the 14th Street Playhouse.
