Designer & Stage Manager Showcase Overview
This annual Showcase is the opportunity for artistic staff of our region’s performing arts companies to meet scenic, costume, lighting, propsand sound designers and Stage Managers – in a relaxed, informal setting.
The showcase will take place midday on Monday, March 29 (late morning to early afternoon), in Stage Three of the 14th Street Playhouse in Midtown, Atlanta.
Designers and stage managers will each have table space to display portfolios, work samples, etc. Artistic staff are invited to roam the room, meet designers and stage managers, and view samples of their work.
Applicants will receive confirmation by mail or email (if provided) that their application has been received. Notice of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent to applicants by U.S. Mail late-February 2010.
The Designer Showcase is open to all designers and stage managers 18 years and older who meet eligibility requirements. To qualify, applicants MUST
1. Be an Individual Member of Atlanta Coalition of Performing Arts, valid through April 2010 or beyond. You may join or renew your membership when submitting your application. Note: ACPA Member Organization staff cards do not qualify as Individual Member cards.
2. AND meet the Unified Committee’s minimum resume requirements as outlined below.
Resume Requirements & Format
Designers: Applicants must submit their design resume along with four (4) work samples by providing a website address if samples are available online or by uploading them to their ACPA profile (user info will be provided once you join.)
Stage Mangers: Applicants must submit their stage management resume along with works samples that may include: copies of a rehearsal or show report, sample pages from a blocking or cue script, or other similar work product. Stage manager work samples may be including with the application or sent via email to Unifeds@atlantaperforms.com
A. Resume must be professionally formatted and include your name & contact information.
B. Resume must include a minimum of six (6) credits (design or stage management credits per your application focus) in the last 6 years, of which four (4) of those credits must be professional or community productions (non-school related), with the exception of recent (May 2008 through August 2010) college or advance degree graduates who may submit their college credits if the application is signed by the Department Head.
C. Credits must include at minimum: job title, name of performing arts company, city/state (required for non-Georgia credits), and name of production.
